Pininfarina Celebrates 95th Anniversary with New Logo
Pininfarina has officially launched celebrations for its 95th anniversary with the reveal of a new logo.
The latter will accompany all of the Italian firm’s corporate communications and events through 2025.
“The values of purity and elegance, which have historically defined Pininfarina’s identity, are the foundation of the 95th-anniversary logo,” says the famed design house, which in recent decades has widened its consultancy offerings to include not only car design, but also nautical and industrial design, and even architecture.
The anniversary logo keeps important aspects of the original design, but the crowned “f” – a symbol of the company since the 1930s – has been updated to look lighter and more modern.
It also includes the famous italicised “pininfarina” logotype, which was first introduced in 1961 when a presidential decree combined the founder’s nickname, “Pinin”, with the family name “Farina”, forming a new surname and company name.
Throughout 2025, the logotype will be paired with the number “95” in the same red as the crown.
Even though the company lost chairman Paolo Pininfarina earlier this year – whose grandfather Battista started Carrozzeria Pinin Farina in 1930 – 2024 has been a remarkable year for the design firm.
They have won 19 design awards, including 5 Good Design Awards announced just this past week; secured an $86 million deal with AMG-Mercedes for a new model; expanded in architecture with projects like “Andare Residences” in the US, “Iconic Tower by Pininfarina” in Dubai, “Dieci” in Panama, “Unica” in Argentina, and “Meringa Tower” in Brazil; and created trophies for Formula 1 racing.
Since 2015, the Italian firm has been owned by Indian conglomerate Mahindra.
