Mattressman Completes Rebrand with Design by The Click

Norwich’s The Click agency has completed a rebranding project for Mattressman, touted as the UK’s largest online mattress retailer.

The new branding, unveiled last year, moves away from the previous cartoon-style mattress mascot to focus more on the theme of sleep.

“We quickly realised that this brief wasn’t about selling mattresses – it was more about the importance of good quality sleep,” says the design team at The Click.

Addig: “The product (mattress) was already embedded in the name – we simply needed to highlight the benefit (sleep) – the element everyone truly desires!

“Our solution elegantly transforms the letter ‘N’ into a series of ZZZs. This distinctive typographic treatment creates a versatile brand asset that flows naturally into a variety of brand touchpoints.”

While the brand’s signature blue colour remains, it has been refined and is now paired alongside “a soothing, dream-inducing” shade of purple that is further claimed to evoke “restful nights”.

The updated identity is visible in store displays, online product listings, and social media campaigns.

Mattressman also launched its inaugural TV advertisement, crafted by Wordley Creative, during the last Christmas season across Sky channels, highlighting the brand’s new look.

Originally founded in North Walsham in 2004, the company has since grown to employ over 100 staff and operates nine stores throughout the East of England.
