Logo and Identity Design for Boxing Champion, Andre Ward

Andre Ward is an American professional boxer and the current WBA and The Ring super middleweight champion. Ward was a gold medalist at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He won his first world championship in 2009.

Nike’s Jordan Brand subsidiary engaged Los Angeles-based graphic design and communications agency Hype Type to design the logo for the man currently rated as the number two best pound-for-pound boxing fighter in the world.

Head designer Paul Hutchison says the design brief demanded the creation of a strong logo mark that would represent and capture who Ward is – both in and outside of the ring.
