JDO Collaborates with Dove and Venus Williams on Limited-Edition Beauty Bar
Global design agency JDO has collaborated with Dove and tennis legend Venus Williams to create the “Dove x Venus” beauty bar.
The limited-edition product marks Dove’s first-ever special edition beauty bar, which has been “designed to amplify Dove’s and Venus’s shared mission of keeping girls active in sports”.
A total of three beauty bars – in vibrant tennis ball green, and all infused with a passionfruit and lemon balm scent chosen by Venus herself – are housed inside a white, tennis ball canister-inspired tube container.
The latter features the Dove wordmark and a gold dove emblem, with “Venus” prominently rendered in a serif typography.
Each bar is further stamped with the word “CONFIDENT”, which is claimed to embody the campaign’s spirit.
The design is completed with the hashtag #KeepHerConfident and Venus Williams’ signature.
The launch comes at time when Dove’s 2023 research reveals that 45% of girls worldwide stop participating in sports by age 14 – twice the rate of boys – reportedly due to body confidence issues.
The beauty bar aims to support Dove’s ‘Body Confident Sport’ program, an initiative developed with Nike that aims to boost body confidence in girls aged 11-17 through scientifically validated coaching tools.
