Identity for a Private School: ATHENS

This identity design was created by award-winning graphic designer Artemov Artel to mark the 15th anniversary of ATHENS – a private school founded and located in the city of Kiev in Ukraine.

The design represents a stylised Grecian helmet, which, as well as being a key element of an ancient Greek soldier’s armoury, was also—and perhaps more importantly—a symbol of Athena, the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom and victory.

Artemov’s helmet symbol is partially formed from and combined with the letter alpha; the latter being the first letter in the name “Athens” and also the first letter of the Greek alphabet.
