Identity and Branding Design for ‘Museo del Cine’
Established in October 1971, the Museo del Cine carries the name of Pablo Cristian Ducrós Hicken in tribute to the man whose collection of cinematographic equipment gave rise to the museum.
As well as housing a specialised book and film library, the museum is actively engaged in the restoration of film and the exhibition of objects used for filming and cinematographic production. Dependent on the Secretaría de Cultura of the Buenos Aires city government, Museo del Cine is the only public museum dedicated exclusively to Argentina’s national cinema.
This conceptual identity makeover is the work of student Samanta Corredoira, who is currently completing her graphic design studies at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires (FADU, UBA).
According to the designer, the logo has been designed to convey a direct visual relationship with the idea of “sequences” and “moving frames”.
In addition to the logo, the identity expands to include such materials as exhibition posters and even architectural signage.
