Branding for Japanese Butchery, ‘Hagiwara Butcher’
When its shop was refurbished, a new brand identity was created for a butchery with a long tradition in Kamakura, Japan. The logo and advertising displays as well as packaging were all redesigned.
In order to familiarise the customers with the company history, the logo features two roofs symbolising the two butcher families. It is also used as a repeating graphic pattern on the packaging materials.
Creative trio Hirokazu Kobayashi, Haruna Yamada, and Satoko Manabe, of Tokyo-based agency SPREAD, were responsible for the rebrand.
The design has subsequently won a 2013 Red Dot Award: Communication Design award.
