Offthetopofmyhead Brands Advisory Firm Barbara McLaughlan Consulting
Offthetopofmyhead has created the logo and identity design for Barbara McLaughlan Consulting.
With a commitment to her motto of “no more talking shops – let’s make a difference”, Barbara has launched a new advisory firm focused on government relations.
Her work involves collaborating with third sector organisations, patient advocacy groups, the pharmaceutical sector, and public affairs agencies in an effort to create meaningful change.
“The logo’s quirky letter c catches your eye and hints at Barbara’s reputation for being solutions orientated and very proactive,” reckons John Spencer, founder and creative director of Offthetopofmyhead.
Another significant aspect of the identity is a chequered pattern, which draws inspiration from the McLaughlan clan’s heritage and ancestral roots.
“In Ireland, the clan’s name is McLaughlan, McLoughlin and McLaughlin and in Scotland it’s MacLachlan. But not only are there various spellings of the name the clan also has a vast array of tartans. So, we’ve given the business its very own tartan that morphs into grid-like supergraphics which speak of frameworks, systems and structures to capture the essence of its work,” explains John.
“The clarity and accessibility of the design together with the logo’s quirky c and the idiosyncratic ‘almost tartan’, speaks to my impatience to get things moving and make a difference,” adds Barbara.
