Offthetopofmyhead Creates Logo and Branding for Gardian Marine
Offthetopofmyhead has created the logo and graphic identity for Gardian Marine.
Founded by Guy Tyler and Edward Morgan, the new marine insurance company is said to be one of only a handful that is specialised in ship construction.
Additionally, the company is focused on complex risks including the building of naval and cruise vessels.
The London-headquartered firm currently has the capacity to cover projects up to the value of $200million.
“The marine insurance industry is awash with traditional symbols of ships, anchors, helms, tridents and the like, but a symbol can’t properly communicate what a marine insurance company does. So Gardian’s confident, ballsy logo concentrates on its name,” says John Spencer, founder and creative director of Offthetopofmyhead.
Adding: “It’s a logo of two halves where slab serifs that suggest construction merge with wave-like terminals that allude to the sea. The logo’s meaning is accentuated by the way Gardian’s hi-vis yellow runs through its centreline on all the company’s collateral.”
