2D-to-3D AI Platform LeiaPix Rebrands, Announces New Name and Logo
AI platform LeiaPix has announced a name change to “Immersity AI” as it ramps up efforts to become a major player in the nascent online AI content creation space.
The browser-based image processing tool, which enables users to add 3D effects – called “Depth Animations” – to their static 2D images, reportedly has over a million users.
As well as a new name, the startup has also unveiled an enhanced user interface that is claimed to be more user-friendly and intuitive than before.
“Immersity AI leverages the ‘incubation’ of LeiaPix during which we have incorporated user feedback, adapted features, integrated functionalities that help users produce superior content, with a seamless workflow,” says the California-headquartered company.
The firm was previously responsible for creating the Lume Pad 2 tablet, which was touted as “the world’s first 3D·AI tablet” upon its release in early 2023.
Built using the company’s own in-house proprietary Diffractive Lightfield Backlighting (DLB) technology, the device allowed a user to see a “spatial” 3D image or video without having to wear special glasses or eyewear.
To coincide with the new branding, the platform is rolling out a new feature that allows users to transform not only images but also videos into 3D content – which can then be deployed inside extended reality (XR) devices such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest.
